Since 1980, we, HOKULIN Co.,Ltd. have been established as a metalworking company at Takaoka (Toyama prefecture), a city known for Monodzukuri–a Japanese phrase for craftsmanship. We make 100% pure tin (錫 Suzu) materials and products. Our delicately thin tin materials can be easily bent, cut, and transformed into any shapes you want, letting users test their ideas that may have been unthinkable with other tin materials. We are here to show a different side of Japanese culture; our products may not necessarily be characterized as Kawaii, but our products most definitely reflect Japan’s traditional culture of craftsmanship. You can feel it here with our tin products!

Exhibition Of Sakubei Yamamoto’s Coal Mining Painting! Sakubei Yamamoto’s coal mining painting has registered as a “UNESCO Memory of the World”. We will introduce Sakubei Yamamoto’s beautiful and historical coal mine paintings in the UK for the first time as a part of the Tokyo2020 Programme. Sakubei’s paintings are now listed as “UNESCO Memory of the World” – the first Japanese pieces to be registered as such, which also includes “The Diary of Anne Frank” and “Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9”. Sakubei Yamamoto’s coal mining scenes evoke what was at the time, the cornerstone of the industrial revolution. The UK and Japan have a very similar history of coal mining and we would like to share this commonality to help build friendships to create another bridge between the UK and Japan.
