Amazing Tomodachi Life offer by Nintendo at HYPER JAPAN 2014!

HYPER JAPAN 2014 is almost here and to celebrate being part of the event, the Nintendo Official UK Store is offering visitors to the event the opportunity to buy Tomodachi Life on Nintendo 3DS & 2DS for just £17.49. This represents a massive saving of 50% on the current Nintendo Official UK Store price.

To qualify for this offer, visitors to HYPER JAPAN 2014 must present their Nintendo 3DS, 3DS XL or 2DS handheld console at the Nintendo Official UK Store (located on the Nintendo stand). The first 500 qualifying visitors will be offered the opportunity to purchase a boxed copy of Tomodachi Life for £17.49. All other qualifying visitors will be offered the opportunity to purchase a digital version of the game for £17.49. This offer is exclusive to HYPER JAPAN 2014 being held in Earls Court, London and is only redeemable at the event on 25, 26 and 27 July 2014.

Tomodachi Life is Nintendo’s latest quirky edition to Nintendo 3DS & 2DS. In the game, players own bustling fantasy island, which they populate with Mii characters based on their friends, family or anyone they wish – watch crazy things happen as their Mii characters interact! Visitors who already own Tomodachi Life will be able to use StreetPass at HYPER JAPAN 2014 to exchange rare items or explorers.

Those that head to the Nintendo stand will also be able to get their hands on games playable to the UK public for the first time, including Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate on Nintendo 3DS & 2DS and Super Smash Bros. on Nintendo 3DS & 2DS. Nintendo will be holding Super Smash Bros. tournaments on Nintendo 3DS & 2DS throughout the day, and only winners of each tournament will get the chance to be able to play Super Smash Bros. for Wii U in a final, with prizes to be won. Nintendo fans will also be able to put their pedal to the metal and race with friends in Mario Kart 8 on Wii U as well as having an exclusive chance to see amiibo* on display at the event, Nintendo’s recently announced NFC-activated interactive figures.

In addition to getting to grips with Nintendo’s latest games, the Nintendo Official UK Store will have exclusive merchandise on sale, normally only available online.

Nintendo bringing pre-release games and new figures this Summer!

With HYPER JAPAN 2014 just around the corner, Nintendo is busy putting the final preparations in place ahead of its big game showcase. Visitors will have a chance to get their hands on a raft of games for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS & 2DS, some of which will be playable by the UK public for the first time including Super Smash Bros. on both Wii U and Nintendo 3DS, and Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate.

At HYPER JAPAN there will be four key areas on the Nintendo stand for gamers to enjoy: Wii U, Nintendo 3DS & 2DS, Tomodachi Life and merchandise from the Nintendo UK Online Store.

Visitors to the Nintendo stand will also have the chance to go hunting for beasts in Capcom’s Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate on Nintendo 3DS as well as take an exclusive sneak peak at amiibo, Nintendo’s recently announced NFC-activated interactive figures. Not only will there be the opportunity to get hands on with some pre-release games, but guests will be able to burn rubber with their friends while turning their world upside-down with the gravity-defying Mario Kart 8 on Wii U.

Visitors will also be able to buy a range of merchandise normally only available on the Nintendo UK Online Store.

PLAY THE LATEST NINTENDO TITLES AT HYPER JAPAN 2014

Nintendo set to showcase latest Wii U and Nintendo 3DS games at HYPER JAPAN

Nintendo will be returning to the HYPER JAPAN expo in 2014 to showcase the latest Wii U and Nintendo 3DS titles. Fans can look forward to getting their hands on some of the newest Nintendo games when HYPER JAPAN 2014 comes to Earls Court, London 25 – 27 July.

As well as being able to step into the world of your favourite Nintendo franchises, with many new titles launching over the next year for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS, the Nintendo stand at HYPER JAPAN 2014 will be the best place to get a first look and hands on time with a number of exclusive games. The official Nintendo UK Online Store will also be hosting a pop-up store at the event so fans can buy Nintendo merchandise and exclusive goodies while at the expo. Nintendo was founded in Kyoto, Japan, and has been making video games hardware and software for over 30 years, in 2014 Nintendo will be back at HYPER JAPAN to celebrate its Japanese heritage by hosting a bigger and better stand and more activities than ever across the whole show. Nintendo will also be participating in a number of showcases on the main stage to keep fans entertained throughout the event.

EUROPEAN COSPLAY GATHERING DETAILS

UK Preliminaries – Sunday 27th July on the HYPER JAPAN main stage

The ECG final will take place at Japan Expo in Paris, France. Japan Expo is the largest pop-culture event in Europe, with over 200,000 visitors and dozens of guests from the world of anime, video games, movies and comics. HYPER JAPAN will be sending one solo cosplayer and one group on an all-expenses paid trip to Japan Expo to represent the UK at the ECG final in July 2015!

Why enter?

As well as having the chance to represent your country and the fun of an all-expenses paid trip to Paris, ECG is a great chance to meet like-minded cosplayers from all over Europe and share an exciting experience together meeting new friends both abroad and at HYPER JAPAN. Many of our previous representatives have made friendships with their fellow contestants which have lasted well after the contest was over.

Who can enter?

Anyone who lives in the UK or is the holder of a British passport. You can enter by yourself or in a group, and you must be aged 18 by 1st June 2015.

How is the contest judged?

ECG is judged on 50% costume, 50% performance. Performing doesn’t need to be scary – it just means that well made simpler costumes have a fair chance at placing as well as complex ones if they have an interesting presentation to go with it.

What’s a progress book and why do I need one?

We ask that all ECG contestants bring a small book with them explaining how they made their costume. This is just so the judges can see all the hard work you’ve put into making your costume. Your book can be as simple or as detailed as you like, it just needs to contain a few in-progress photos of your costume and one or two notes explaining how you made it.

How can I enter?

The UK Preliminary for ECG 2015 will take place on Sunday, 27th July 2014 at HYPER JAPAN. This means the winning team will have almost a year to prepare for the finals in 2015!
